so-called "experts" fail to see the significance of
the phenomenon, but at EzerNet we believe that a major strength of the Internet is that it provides the individuals the power to interact with other individuals directly, without the intervention of third parties. We have seen some of these interactions materialize in new services such as auctions, Internet personals,
chat, talk, etc. The emergence of the USENET as a
more timely and informed alternative to conventional print news has arguably already changed a lot of rules in western popular culture. Some might argue such alternatives could soon challenge the very power of governments to control their citizens, by denying any element of society the power to monopolize information.
As
the Internet matures, C2C markets and virtual marketplaces may challenge the ability of governments to tax sales of all types. Many new services and potentially even new forms of commerce may spring up. Again, EzerNet and our customers will be prepared for this emergence of a new way of life.
